The eye-opening drama depicts a slice of the lives of four people entrapped by their addictions. Harry Goldfarb (Jared Leto), his girlfriend Marion Silver (Jennifer Connelly) and his best pal Tyrone C. Love (Marlon Wayans) are massively hooked on drugs. They enjoy blowing their minds but haven't yet gone to pieces so they live a relatively full life having dreams and making plans for the future. Knowing that heroin brings in a lot of cash, they become small-time drug dealers who have many things to take care of: where to obtain the goods, who to sell, how not to be caught red-handed. They successfully sell drugs in the streets of New York but one day their fragile world crashes down when they have to put an end to their business due to the showdown between local mobsters. The lost source of income doesn't sadden them much. What drives them to despair is having nowhere to get drugs for themselves. Harry and Tyrone arrive at a decision to go to Florida to buy heroine in bulk at cheaper prices. Along the way, Harry is tormented by gangrene of the hand that worsens and results in amputation. Tyron is put in prison. The cocaine-obsessed Marion begins to sell herself in order to get the drug.
Meanwhile, Harry's widowed mother, Sara Goldfarb (Ellen Burstyn), who is addicted to television is selected to appear on her favourite game show. Wanting to fit into her best red dress, she visits a doctor who prescribes amphetamines which depress appetite. Sara soon becomes dependent on the diet pills and ends up in mental hospital. The moral of the story is that all addictions have dire consequences.

It is he who outsmarted the FBI. It is he who knows holes in laws. He could be named Batman or Iron Man. When his illegal business makes him a millionaire, Orlov suddenly faces an unexpected adversary - his own conscience. Moreover, Interpol agent Jack Valentine (Ethan Hawke) is after him. But it is not easy to give up the world full of gratifications, beautiful women and weapons, especially as no one wants him to stop, even his rivals... |

In World War II, the outcome of the battle of Guadalcanal will strongly influence the Japanese's advance into the pacific. A group of young soldiers is brought in as a relief for the battle-weary Marine units. The exhausting fight for a key-positioned airfield that allows control over a 1000-mile radius puts the men of the Army Rifle company C-for-Charlie through hell. The horrors of war forms the soldiers into a tight-knit group, their emotions develop into bonds of love and even family. The reasons for this war get further away as the world for the men gets smaller and smaller until their fighting is for mere survival and the life of the other men with them. |

After her divorce, Meg Altman and her daughter Sarah move into an old-fashioned house with one very modern addition: a "panic room" which is virtually impossible to break into, designed for refuge during a home invasion. In their first night in the house a trio of thieves do break in and Meg and Sarah rush into the panic room. However, the intruders are looking for something inside the panic room, and given the recent move the room's hotline to the police hasn't been hooked up yet. Worse, Sarah is diabetic and the room doesn't contain any sugar... |

Robinson and Charles Hildebrandt - chase the sociopaths, but without having the evidence of a body. In the end of 40's, the couple is finally arrested and sentenced to death, being electrocuted in March, 1951 in Sing Sing. |
