Nicholas Garrigan (James McAvoy), a young idealistic Scottish doctor, wants to escape from the bourgeois life of his parents and thus volunteers to work in a remote Ugandan village. His arrival is coincident with the beginning of Idi Amin's (Forest Whitaker) reign. The new leader unexpectedly offers Garrigan the position of his personal physician, and, enamored by the president's magnanimity and charisma, the doctor accepts a tempting offer. Nicholas soon catches himself being his advisor on all matters, from architecture to foreign affairs. At first he feels proud to be given the honor of being Amin's closest confidante but then becomes appalled by the tyrant's savagery and murderous insanity. Moreover, he realizes that he is abetting Amin. Eventually, Garrigan has to put out considerable effort in order to avoid falling victim to the barbaric dictator and escape Uganda alive. |

A mysterious African-American warrior nicknamed Ghost Dog (Forest Whitaker) follows "Hagakure: The Way of the Samurai." He lives in solitude, communicating with the outside world via homing pigeon, and faithfully serves a small-time mobster, Louie (John Tormey), who once saved his life. He blindly obeys his master, performing dangerous missions that are generally connected with assassination. When his recent murder is witnessed by the big boss' daughter, Louise Vargo (Tricia Vessey), the mafia group decides to put Ghost Dog away so as to conceal their involvement. The gangsters keep the track of all the lofts in town and kill Ghost Dog's pigeons when they eventually find his hut. Ghost Dog realizes that he is given the toughest assignment to slay the entire mafia or, otherwise, they will kill him and his master, so he starts wiping out his many adversaries.

This guy draws Steve out demanding a forced confession in all his lies, a confession which can cost him his job and relations with his wife. In other hand, denial will cost him his life as well as if he'd hang up the phone. Meanwhile, police forces which gathered around the booth as a passing pedestrian is injured by a maniacal shooter, consider Steve himself as a maniac, being unaware of sniper existence. For liars to notice: one should never pick up a phone ringing in a telephone booth... |

Haunted by grisly flashbacks, Dove soon figures out the identity of the bomber — Irish explosives expert Ryan Gaerity, a man who is so radical in his views that even the IRA wants nothing to do with him. Gaerity has escaped from the maximum security Castle Gleigh prison in Ireland, using a bomb made from ingredients that include blood, wool, and a porcelain toilet. Gaerity has fled to Boston, where he saw Dove, who had just disarmed a bomb planted in the Harvard computer lab, painted as a reluctant hero on TV. Gaerity was furious: it's because of Dove that he's spent years in prison. Dove was born Liam McGivney, and he used to be a naive Irish patriot. Gaerity recruited him and taught him to build bombs, and Gaerity conceived a terrorist plan that went terribly wrong. Liam helped Gaerity build a bomb, then he realized that Gaerity intended to detonate it on a crowded street. Liam tried to stop Gaerity from detonating the bomb, but bomb device went off, killing a lot of people, including Gaerity's sister. Liam escaped from Ireland and made his way to America, where he changed his name to Jimmy Dove. Gaerity was arrested, tried, and imprisoned until his escape. Gaerity, who has now taken up residence in an abandoned gambling ship called the Dolphin, has decided to get revenge on Dove, and Gaerity started terrorizing the bomb squad by killing Blanket. Now, Dove is the only one who can stop Gaerity. |
